How we work

Midnight VFX is a boutique South African studio with the pipeline of a much larger one. We treat content security as a production requirement, not a hindrance. Workstations and storage sit on a segmented, firewalled production network. Access is identity-managed, MFA-enforced, and scoped per project. Our infrastructure is built and documented against TPN v5.3.1.

Our environment has been reviewed and approved under the content-security requirements of multiple major streamers and studios. We welcome client security audits. Documentation, topology, and workflow evidence are ready to share under NDA.

Our office is backed by a robust 15KVA diesel generator, ensuring seamless transitions during power outages. We’re accustomed to working with international clients and frequently conduct review sessions via CineSync.

VFX For Good

Midnight VFX donates a percentage of its sales to Ladles of Love, a Cape Town NPO supporting more than 130 beneficiaries across the peninsula.

These include NPOs, Community CAN projects, ECD projects, schools, churches, community centres, community farmers, and even local people who run soup kitchens from their own homes. Their focus is to invest in projects that are sustainable and will make a lasting change to the plight of vulnerable communities. These beneficiaries are spread all over the Western Cape peninsula – from Wellington to Noordhoek and everywhere in between, including Khayelitsha, Delft, Tafelsig, Phillipi, and Gugulethu. In a society where not everyone has access to the same opportunities, it’s vital that those who can help do so. By uplifting the most vulnerable among us, we all grow stronger, and we build a more prosperous and beneficial community for all.
