For Season 1 of Netflix’s Bad Influencer, Midnight VFX delivered high-stakes action focused visual effects to drive the series’ most dramatic sequences.

To build a dense and claustrophobic underground market we duplicated the practical talent and integrated volumetric smoke to heighten the tension of the scene.

To achieve one of the key dramatic moments of the series, our team worked closely with production to plan and execute a high-impact car crash. Our supervisors were on set during principle photography of this scene and helped ensure the scene was executed safely while capturing everything the team would need when creating the effect in post. By the time the shot reached our artists, the process was seamless in creating a believable and devastating collision.

Bringing the drama to its peak, we added muzzle flashes, bullet hits and sparks to a pivotal shootout scene.

Bad Influencer hit number 3 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 English Shows shortly after its release, gaining international recognition. Midnight VFX is very proud to have contributed towards this South African success story!
